Principal photography on the film began in January 2017 in Atlanta, Georgia and ended in April 2017. The film was released in the United States on December 22, 2017, received mixed reviews from critics, and has grossed $183 million worldwide.[3][4] It has become the second highest-grossing musical comedy film of all time, behind only the second film.
